The Mentone Hotel

The Mentone Hotel is an iconic dining and entertainment venue located on Beach Road.

With views stretching along the coast and out to Port Phillip Bay, the Mentone is perfectly located for a relaxed catch-up with friends, to see a live music act or enjoy a meal in our dining room.

The Mentone Hotel is open seven days a week and offers a well-stocked bottle shop. It has several purpose built function spaces, a contemporary outdoor dining space and a dynamic live entertainment calendar.

Syracuse Restaurant and Wine Bar

Syracuse Restaurant & Wine bar conveniently located in between Collins St and Little Collins St. Bank Place is one of Melbourne’s famous laneways and is a tree lined pedestrian thoroughfare. Our open dining room seats 70 people and our alfresco option is a lush outdoor seating area for up to 16 people.

Our dining room evokes a wholly other time and place. The ornate archways, soaring ceilings and curving chandeliers of a 19th century hotel lobby create a stunning impression of grandeur, though soft lighting and an assortment of antique tables and chairs keep the mood romantic and welcoming. Wine bottles displayed in various nooks and crannies hint at Syracuses vast and varied wine selection, which the food menu is designed to match.

The Point

Venue is best known for its jewel postion on the side of the albert park lake and for hosting some of the most beautiful weddings and events, the venue is not on a budget, it goes all out, is just stunning at night or in the day time.

Ambiance is everything, and this place has it in spades. Groovy music a cozy warm wintery spot to mellow, eat nice food and drink coffee by the Yarra. The coffee is a good strong blend too so that suits the lovers of good strong coffee, heres looking at you middles east and italians, croations and greeks.

Handsome Steve’s House of Refreshment

Down amongst the Tigersnakes by the Yarra river is the Abbotsford Convent. Built one hundred years ago by the Order of Good Shepherd to provide shelter and spiritual support for vulnerable girls and women, it is slowly being turned into an arts, cultural and educational precinct. I’m sure the vulnerable girls and women would have preferred art, culture and education to the grinding routine of the Laundry. What has happened to them anyway?
